Celebration Sunday~Genealogy Happy Dance!

You know the dance. You know you've done it. The one every researcher does after finding something new. The one where you want to jump up and down and shout to everyone around that you found the document, contacted a cousin who has the family Bible, made a DNA connection or found a whole new branch to your tree. The one that is met with glazed stares and eye rolls.
Celebration Sunday is a place to share your discoveries.
This is a weekly series to enable everyone to tell about their Genealogy Happy Dance moment. This can be done by scrolling down and adding your story to the comments section. You may also put a link to a blog post.

My Happy Dance This Week: This week I had two cousin connections from my blog. One of them is someone who just started coming to our local Genealogy Club! She visited the blog and discovered the connection. How fun is that?!

  1. I am working on a lady's family tree and she has people in Quebec. I know nothing about French, but a friend of mine spent time transcribing 2 documents for me and then teaching me how to read some of the basic documents. She was amazing in the amount of time she spent preparing a sheet with words that would help me. This week I was able to transcribe a baptismal record by myself and she and I were so pleased and the record provided the names of parents and the Godparents, with the relationship of the each Godparent to the child being baptized. It was a wonderful find.

    1. Michelle, so glad that you were able to find some translation help and then be able to transcribe the records yourself! It's always so great to explore new records! Congratulations on your finds! Thanks for sharing! Doing that dance with you!
